Punt to Putnam

Our day brought us to our neighbor state of Connecticut. We chose Putnam for its nearby location without realizing how cozy, homey, diverse and just down right gorgeous it is. Needless to say, we fell in love with Putnam. The country roads offered spacious farmland and stunning, well kept historic homes. We concentrated the bulk of our walk in the restored downtown area. Restaurants of all cuisines, shops ranging from pottery to art galleries, an oversized antique store, the best thrift store around, plus a waterfall walking park ! Tie up your shoe laces, because it’s time to walk !

So happy to have wandered through Putnam ! We felt very much at home. People were very friendly. Downtown is still in progress of rehab, but if what we experienced is any indication of what’s to come upon completion, Putnam will be a 5 Star visit. Many good choices of restaurants will give a choice of everything from hot dogs to sushi. The waterfall walk was a breeze on the riverfront. Many park benches offer a spot to sit and enjoy the landscape. And yes, there is a dog park if you need one. Please consider falling in love with Putnam. We are glad we did !
