Rodger Williams Park Waltz
Location: 1000 Elmwood Ave, Providence, RI
Map from the official website.
A truly beautiful, mammoth of a park in the busy city of Providence. A great escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and a great discovery for everyone. Many Rhode Island residents will remember this for the Zoo year round, including spectacular seasonal events. The park offers many other activities, such a planetarium, outdoor tennis courts, dedicated bike paths, the Temple to Music, a Japanese garden, an extensive greenhouse and gardens, a working carousal, and many walking paths to hike down. Picnic areas included. The Zoo is a one day expedition in its own right, so you may want to plan multiple days to get the splendor of it all. We have so much to do, so much to see, so let’s not waste any time !

A spectacular park on a spectacular day ! Whether you choose to walk or drive, you will find a wonderful variety of attractions to fill your day ! As a matter of fact, there are so many great choices, you may have to plan as a two day trip. If this is your first visit to Rodger Williams Park, we recommend you drive through the entire park first to get a better idea of the landscape. Then you can plan your time walking or driving to take in the sights of your personal interest. FYI; we spent 5 hours enjoying the park. Stay tuned for next week, as we feature the Botanical Gardens. It deserves its own spotlight. Catch you then !
