Skipping Through Slater Park

DISCLAIMER: This is another one of those park adventures that can be as long or as short as you desire. There is a three mile biking trail, as well as many walking trails throughout the park. This one is at your personal discretion. You make it the day you want. One, two or three Sneaker Length; your choice.

DISCLAIMER: Some trails off the beaten path can reach a Two Shoelace terrain. For the most part however, there are paved walkways laid throughout the park.

A peaceful country like setting is a refreshing stop in the midst of the busy city of Pawtucket, RI. It offers full recreational facilities, including tennis courts and thirteen picnic sites. The carousel was built in 1894 and it was restored in 1978. Bring your bike for the three mile bike trail. For the artist in you, you will find a Water Color Society. And guess what ? For dog lovers, a dog park is available for you ! Plenty of parking along the roadsides or parking lots scattered throughout. Public bathrooms available next door to the farm. Yes, there is a farm and live animals to visit. Who doesn’t love a visit to the farm ? We do recommend some comfy walking shoes and be ready to have a taste of the countryside in the city ! Shall we ?

Coming up, we met a few friends at the park !

Can’t really pick one favorite part of this park. It offers everything from a dog park, to a carousal, even some education about our New England trees. And let’s not forget our skelly couple in time for the season ! Happy walking in Slater’s Park ! See you next time !
