Today we bring you to Pawtucket, RI, where we have found where significant history of early manufacturing was made. Slater Mill is America’s first successful water-powered spinning mill. A man called Samuel Slater, alongside other local craftsman, created machines that spun cotton into thread. This transformed America from a nation of farms into an international industrial powerhouse. The American Industrial Revolution began right here. It was 1793 when it all began and forever changed the ways of life, the land and the economics. There are three historic buildings on this now historic park. The walk is brick paved and easily navigated on foot as well as handicap accessible. You will find many historic plaques explaining the rich story behind the countless hands who made their mark on the manufacturing of this great country. What do you say we take a step back in time ?
