A North Providence Gem in the Rough

Who doesn’t love a neighborhood walk in the park ? We stumbled upon this one as we drove to Shaw’s Market. Our curiosity to drive in was pleasantly satisfied finding a place for adults, children, and sports enthusiasts. The parking is plentiful with easy access to the smooth paved paths. Many benches line the walkways from beginning to end. You will also find picnic tables to enjoy a coffee, a snack, or even a picnic lunch. The children’s playground offers hours of fun in a peaceful atmosphere. There’s a baseball field for the teams, tennis courts, and wilderness walks if that is your “cup of tea.” The terrain is smooth and easily navigated with a rollator walker. We found it to be a good workout because there are hills and valleys. So come stroll with us through this oh so pleasant neighborhood walk !
So there you have it ! Just a suggestion: pick up a picnic lunch at Shaw’s Market down the street and plan on spending the day at Captain Stephen Olney Park. It will not disappoint ! We’ll be looking for you ! See you there !
