Trolls at Ninigret Park Spring 2024

Location via Waze

Welcome to Charlestown ! If this is your first visit you will be so happy to have made the drive. For those Rhode Islanders who tend to not venture far from home, this is going to be a great day to remember. And, it’s really not THAT far. Ninigret park is a very large family friendly place to visit. You will find a beach, a playground with plenty of space for the kids to play, picnic tables that are shaded and bathrooms easily accessible and accommodates handicap. Soooooo be prepared to spend the entire day, there is much to do here. The most recent addition to the park are two behemoth Trolls. The first one, Eric Rock, is rather easy to find. The second, Gretta Granite is quite an adventure to seek. After you see Eric you will be excited to search out Gretta. Don’t throw in the towel, keep on searching !

Now, where on earth could Gretta Granite be hiding…? Are you ready ? Let’s go !

Just FYI to help you along, when you reach the narrow dirt path, begin to look up in the trees. You will find Gretta’s necklaces adorning the trail. Continue to follow the necklaces and you will find her.

THERE SHE IS !!! WE FOUND HER !!!

Another FYI, Gretta is in a kneeling down pose. You can walk behind her. Her hair is tied back with a copper wire. AND she is barefoot.

Spotted this family… We think they’re searching for the trolls, too. We hope they have as much fun as we did in Ninigret Park !
The artist who created our troll friends is Thomas Dambo. Please look him up online and get to know him a little bit. His wife is from Rhode Island. We are very grateful to Charlestown for bringing his art to our wonderful state. Through the grapevine, we have heard that there may be more trolls within our state in the future. Stay tuned ! We will bring them to you ! Enjoy your day in Charlestown !
